Situated in the southwest corner of Idaho, Eagle enjoys a close proximity to nearby Oregon to the west, Nevada to the south and Utah to the southeast. (There is another Eagle located in Shoshone County, Idaho.)

The city of Eagle maintains 5 tree-lined parks, and is in the process of developing 2 additional parks. Tour Arboretum Park where there are 37 varieties of trees, a wide array of local plants and a variety of rose bushes. For you sports enthusiasts, take advantage of the lighted tennis court and sports facility at Friendship Park. In the summertime, Heritage Park is the “place to be” for your family, featuring a large gazebo open to the public as well as a ground level fountain wading pool for the kids to enjoy. Orval Krasen Park is a family park with traditional amenities such as open spaces, picnic tables and playgrounds. Completed in March 2003, Reid W. Merrill Sr. Community Park offers an observation deck overlooking beautiful wetland areas among other amenities.
Skateboard Park invites skateboarders, roller bladders and bikers from all over the area to enjoy the 12,5000 square foot concrete maze. This gigantic mecca to all things wheels is just the first phase of an 85-acre park development. The other new park development is the Stephen C. Guerber Park. Phase one was completed in 2005, erecting several multi-use playing fields as well as a field specifically for the little league’s use. The future plans for the park include state of the art playground equipment and an interactive water feature.
Eagle is also home to Easter Island State Park, a huge park spanning 545 acres with such features as a swimming beach, a waterslide, more than 5 miles of equestrian trails, several horseshoe pits, multiple volleyball courts and picnic areas galore. This park is maintained by the state of Idaho, and is a main feature in the city of Easter.
Eagle has 2 golf courses within its city limits, including the award-winning BanBury Golf Club offering a challenging 18-hole course featuring 6,812 yards of golf from the longest tees with a par of 71. The other course within Eagle city limits is Eagle Hills Golf Course, which offers an 18-hole regulation length course featuring 6,485 yards of golf from the longest tees with a par of 72. In addition to these 2 golfing facilities, there are 21 golf courses within a 20-mile radius of Eagle for you to enjoy.
Special Attractions/Events
The city of Eagle is a family-oriented community that celebrates the holidays together. For instance, this holiday season will be kicked off on the evening of December 1. Events will include a tour of the Eagle Historical Museum, an old fashioned sing along and Christmas carols with the girl scouts, decorating cookies and a tree lighting ceremony at Heritage Park. Afterwards, the entire family can enjoy free hot chocolate, take pictures with Santa and have their face painted. There will be a live Nativity scene and performances by the Eagle Hills Honor Choir and the middle school Jazz Band. Imagine what it is like to live in Eagle all year round with such festivities at hand!
Nearby to Eagle is Bogus Basin, an infamous spot to enjoy the wintertime snow. Created solely by volunteers passionate about snowy fun for all to enjoy, the “little ski hill with [a] one rope tow” has now turned into a mountain with 7 chairlifts. Whether your interest is skiing or snowboarding, this is the place to be. There are Nordic trails to traverse, and night skiing for the more adventuresome. Over 300,000 snow lovers visit Bogus Basin each winter season.
The Snake River Stampede Rodeo is one of the top 12 professional rodeos acknowledged by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. Held in nearby Nampa, people from all around come to participate in the pre-festivities as well as the weeklong rodeo itself. Pre-festivities include a steak fry, an outdoor concert and, of course, the Little Miss Snake River Dayz Pageant and Coronation.
